Salt Lake City is the State Capital of Utah and also the most populous city in the state, with a metropolitan population of around 1.2 million. The city lies at the crossroads of Interstate 80, which runs from New York City to San Francisco, and Interstate 15, which runs from the Mexican border near San Diego to the Canadian border in northern Montana. It is also served by the Salt Lake International airport, a major hub that serves over 25 million passengers a year, and has nonstop flights to over 100 cities in North America and Europe.
