OFFICER WAYFINDER’S REVIEW
The staff was very friendly and welcoming from a customer service standpoint. The cabin crew was communicative and engaged.
American’s soft product is behind it’s peers in several aspects. It does not offer free texting in flight like Southwest and Delta. I know that’s a relatively small detail, but it really does make a difference in service. American also uses two different WiFi providers throughout its fleet - GoGo and Viasat. T-Mobile customers do not get free internet with Viasat. And, from what I can tell, it is difficult to determine what provider you’ll have until you log on in flight. This particular flight was provided by GoGo.
American’s hard product is hit or miss depending on the aircraft type. The seats on this version of the A319 were comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised that there were power outlets and adjustable headrests at each seat. But there was no USB plug in the seat and no IFE screen. Streaming content was available on personal devices, but there is something incredibly convenient about having a seatback screen rather than using my own device.
The legroom in Main Cabin was fine. I didn’t find it any more or less than other comparable domestic Economy Class experiences.
Overall, I don’t fly American too often. But in the future if I find myself on an American itinerary, I will definitely try to fly on a A319 due to the power outlets and comfortable seats.
